Three and a half years ago I walked into Studio Ayo and signed up for my first Boot Camp. I had not exercised in for years. I had no expectations, and no realization that three years later I would have completed my 9th boot camp, and have signed up for number 10 starting in January, that I would have participated in a Mudderella with an amazing group of women and that I would be in my best physical shape in a very, very long time! It is owed to my hard work, the support of my husband, the other boot campers I have met along the way who motivated me and supported me and who I now call friends, the trainers and this amazing, motivating individual who is called Akinyemi Damola. He has created more than a gym, he has created a way of life.

I could write a book about how my experience at Studio Ayo has been life changing, but you have to experience it to genuinely appreciate it. Ayo is more than a gym; it’s a journey of transformation from the inside out. Whether you’re a seasoned professional or an uncoordinated beginner like me, there’s something here for everyone.

A year ago, I would have burst into hysterical laughter if anyone suggested that I would scale an 8 foot wall, participate in a Hercules Fit Challenge or become the first ever Rookie to be named Bootcamp MVP…but I’ve accomplished all of it – and in the last three months alone!

I’ve walked treacherously in super morbidly obese shoes and now I jog in relatively average size sneakers. I’m not nearly the best – my journey is far from over. But, unlike all of my other failed attempts, Ayo and the TEAM of professionals associated with it continue to propel me forward. Free from superficial nonsense, it’s filled with individuals that offer pure encouragement, abundant knowledge and unparalleled faith.

Ayo is magnetic – it draws you in. I am incredibly thankful for the personal victories I have achieved since joining the Ayo family. I learn something new almost daily and it only makes me want to try harder. To quote Damola, I’m “doing it!” All you have to do is move!

When I began Studio Ayo I thought I was just joining another gym. I quickly came to the realization that this wasn’t just a gym...this is a family, a home away from home, a place where when you walk in you know you will have the inspiration and push you need to get through your workout. No matter what kind of day you are having, you only need to be there a short time when it is changed to a positive. Starting with the smile and hello from the front desk to the encouragement of the trainers throughout, it’s a place I can’t wait to get to everyday. Along with all of this I have made friends that I consider my Ayo family for life! #ayostrong #ayofamily #ayolove

When I first think of Stuido Ayo I think of family and all the lovely ladies I have meet while doing Summer Melt Down and Bootcamp. When you 1st walk in the doors of Ayo you think to yourself “omg what have I got myself into.” But the panic quickly goes away when you start working out. You are not being judged or ridiculed by any means. You have a huge support staff. No one is superior to you, everyone is treated equally and when you think you can’t do it anymore is when you push yourself even harder because of all the positive energy. You are part of a family at Ayo and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Who knew that walking into studio ayo to join fall Bootcamp without knowing anyone would lead me to where I am today. I have overcome many obstacles, obtained a self confidence I never had and most of all I have a whole new family. The ongoing love and support at Studio Ayo is like no other. Damola , the staff and the members have all helped me in a way that can never be described. I’m extremely grateful and glad I took that step. We are a family, not just a gym. Thank you!! #ayostrong
